So, I was scouring Etsy today hoping I would stumble on a cheap gem. To my surprise I found this beautiful pattern. I am absolutely in love!
Think of the things you could do with this? Double sided. Belted. Floor length. OMG the possibilities are endless. I’m debating on whether I should buy the pattern, or interpret it myself and drape a similar dress with more modern style-lines and fit (I might put darts in the front and back to tailor the fit). But anyways, I am absolutely in love, and now off to search for more ingenious Mid-Century Modern patterns!

What:
T-shirt: Express
Belt: Ralph Lauren
Trouser: Banana Republic
Bumble Bee Necklace: Etsy
Ring: Accessories Palace
Where:
Work
Why:
This morning I realized I haven’t worn a dress pant/trouser to work in a very long time. My office is rather casual so a dark wash jean usually makes the cut. I dressed down the look with a cotton tee cinched at the natural waist to create structure and break up the proportion of the look (since I didn’t want to tuck the shirt in). I also blew-dry my hair, which was a mistake. It rained today and the humidity had it’s way with my hair before 8am, so I just pulled it back and side-swept the fringe. After attempting a professional look, I was too tired to even think about wearing heels all day, so I slipped on a bright ballet flat (tried and true). At least I tried, and all in all I think today was a good experiment.
Question of the day:
What do you call dress pants? What words do you use to describe non-denim pants?

Dear Rubik’s Cube Pepper Mill,
Please come brighten up my dinner table. I do love putting massive amounts of pepper on everything I eat.

What:
Turtleneck: TJ Maxx (Savannah)
Belt: Old Navy
Skirt: Marshall’s (Savannah)
Sandals: Aldo
Bracelet: Gift from St. Croix
Where:
Work
Why:
Had been planning on wearing some color in honor of the Spring weather, but it was kinda chilly today AND rained during my morning commute (at least I’m getting some wear out of my trench coat!). So I paired this shirtsleeve turtleneck with a bright, embroidered skirt and contrasting sandals. It looks kinda funny but I think it worked perfectly for today’s weather.

What:
Tank: Forever 21 ($2 on sale!)
Cardigan: Gap
Jeans: Forever 21 ($10 on sale!)
Belt: unknown (had it forever and have never worn it!)
Shoes: Payless
Turquoise Ring: Flea Market (Savannah)
Where:
Work and Date Night
Why:
It was raining this morning and I woke up late. It’s the fourth day of my “curly hair” challenge. So with no time to shower, I sprayed some water on my hair to loosen the ringlets, added a little L’Oéal Élasticité and Sunsilk Waves of Envy Sea Mist, and there you go. I think these are the best curls I’ve had all week! I wanted to brighten up the tank and cardi look by accessorizing somewhat, to make it look like I was at least trying a little. So there you have it, my “slept in late, rainy day” cozy outfit.

What:
Dress: Vintage (Market Publique)
Shoes: H+M
Necklace: Etsy
Bracklet: Gift from St. Croix
Where:
Work and Happy Hour drinks in Chelsea with friends
Why:
I’ve been shopping online ALOT lately, and Market Publique’s auctions are addicting! I was hesitant about this dress at first, but I was the only bidder and I won it at an awesome price. It’s a very light-weight cotton/flax type matter, so perfect for Spring. The long sleeves kept me warm while it drizzled this morning, and the heels are my absolute favorite. I don’t even think they look like they’re from H+M.
