Fashion Tricks and Secret Weapons:
Downy Wrinkle Releaser
By lizzie_jeanne. Filed in Fashion Tricks & Secret Weapons | I am going to share my#1 top secret fashion trick that I use almost every day. Downy Wrinkle Releaser. It may seem like a simple idea, but have you used it recently?

After your clothes come back from the dry cleaner or from being laundered, it would be nice to think that everything gets hung up properly and neatly folded away. Unfortunately clothes aren’t always properly cared for, and our wardrobes quickly outgrow diminutive storage solutions. After folding and pressing and shoving and fitting just one more dress into your closet things get, well… wrinkled.
Either the night before, or in the morning when you’re getting ready (it really depends on the fabric of the garment and how bad the wrinkles are) simply spray your outfit with a mist of this wonder serum, hang it out in the open (the back of a door is best) and go about your business getting ready.
By the time you have showered, done your hair, makeup, eating breakfast, etc. the fibers in your garment will have relaxed back to their natural position and your clothes will look as though they are freshly pressed from the cleaners! Its amazing, I invite you all to try it.
Downy suggests the Wrinkle Releaser works best with “casual clothes” (i.e cotton, jersey, denim), but I primarily use it for silks, chiffon, and dry-clean only fabrics that I’m afraid to scorch with an iron.
If you use Downy Wrinkle Releaser (if dont go try it now!) or any other fashion miracle trick, tell me about! send me an email or comment below. I would love to share your tips and tricks!

I’ve tried Downy Wrinkle Releaser, but I decided to go all out and get a professional steamer. I keep it in my bedroom and steam my clothes almost every day before I put them on. It’s a bit more of an investment, but will last you forever and it’s better for the environment and probably your clothes too…
The steamer heats up faster than I can decide which shoes to wear with that dress (2 mins), and steaming takes another 2 mins unless the garment is heavily pleated and crushed.
My undying devotion goes to Jiffy Steamers – used by most professionals and boutiques – http://www.jiffysteamer.com – they should really give me commission! I’ve tried Rowentas and Conairs and they just don’t work as well at all.
If you’re not into spending over $100 bucks, try the travel one for $65, which works equally as amazing for steaming a garment or two at a time.

Of course you know I would love a steamer… but the price and the space it takes up, I just dont know. I had a small hand-held steamer a while pack for photoshoots and traveling, but it never worked well and eventually died.
All great points about taking care of your clothes and the environment. Thanks for the tips!

I used to LOVE that stuff and then sort of forgot about it when I ran out of the last bottle. Thanks for reminding me how great it is – just this morning I was cursing myself while ironing a skirt while running late for work!

Which travel steamer did you try? If you haven’t tried the Jiffy travel one, you really should – take mine for a spin sometime, it’s THAT good. You have to promise to bring it back though!
