Work and a Bus to Boston!

Why:

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens… these are a few of my favorite things!

After a very long week with late nights, important meetings, and dodging a few work related crises I felt I deserved not only to be comfortable, but to surround myself with things that make me happy.

So here we have it, the most comfortable / favorite outfit ever:

The cashmere-cotton blend sweater is new (on sale in Georgia for $23!) and is INCREDIBLY comfortable without being baggy and matronly / looking like a granpa sweater (which is my style of choice).

The nude peep toe pumps are the answer to my prayers for the perfect shoe. They are a little high (I’m around 6′2″ with this platform) but I still love them nonetheless, and wanted to debut today!

Finally I love fall because I can wear things like this jacket! I found this last year while perusing the racks at Loehman’s for a peacoat. Having just moved to New York from Georgia, my wardrobe was not quite fit to tackle the brisk and chilly Northeast weather. This felted wool blazer works so well in so many ways; it’s a blazer (duuh), a great little jack with jeans (seen here), and a great complement to a LBD for going out. I love it and I have been dying for a cold day to break it out.

I’m going to visit my parents in Boston this weekend (such a jetsetter), so I wanted to be comfortable for the 4+ hour bus ride too. I really wanted to go apple picking this weekend, but it’s supposed to rain tomorrow, so we shall see what crazy adventures my mom and I come up with.

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

ok, i am def a fan of these now that i’ve seen them on. who cares if you’re a giant– tall shoes look better on tall people anyway :)

With the heel it’s 5″ so I’m really like 6′3″. Not a big deal when it’s just me and the boyfriend, but around my 5′2″ friends I start to look like a hunchback! Working on the posture!

I am dying over those heels! Actually, I think they killed me. :) I love outfits like these that are so simple, but just so chic! You look awesome. I’m kind of in the same boat with the height situation. I’m 5′7, and I feel like I tower over people when I’m in heels. Doesn’t stop me from wearing them! I do, however, need to find where NYC is keeping all the tall men. I need 6′ or above.

Love this outfit, it’s so simple, but simple is great in this case! Those pumps are beautiful, I want!

Btw I’m giving away a pair of LNA zipper leggings from ChickDowntown – check out my blog to enter! http://highmaintenancewoman.blogspot.com/2009/09/get-fresh-for-fall-with-chickdowntown.html
