Lapis Globe Necklace: ebay
“L” Typewriter Bracelet: vendir at Artists & Fleas

Why:

I found a beautiful lapis globe necklace at SoWa in Boston last weekend. When my dad saw me eying the piece he offered to buy it, but I refused, knowing I could do better than the $50 price tag (the vendor wouldn’t budge on the price).

Well, I ran home, hopped on ebay and found one for $14! Done deal.

And now I have a lovely lapis globe pendant! I love a happy ending, don’t you?

I thought the globe necklace went rather well with the rest of this school-girl meets Rhodes-scholar look.

Yay, eBay! I feel like I do something similar, most of the time. If I see something in shop I like, I try it on, then I get it online using online promo codes so it’s insanely cheaper.

And BTW, your outfit is stellar. I love the blue and brown together!

You look perfect in this outfit-I love it! Preppy w/an attitude! Is lapis another word for cloissone? b/c to me, the globe looks like cloisonne…but I could be mistaken. Great look today, lady!

Lapis is the semi-precious blue stone that makes up the water on the globe, then other gems are inlay-ed (sp?) for the continents. They make giant globes like this: http://bit.ly/2Xr9zB.

I guess cloisonne would be the process of inlaying the stones and the gold strips that are the longitude and latitude? oh I wish I was a jewelry major!

I want to marry this belt.
