Daily Outfit: September 21, 2009

When:
September 21, 2009

What:
Green Embroidered Skirt: Marshall’s
White V Neck Tee: Old Navy
Striped Cardigan: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Tahari
Sunnies: Boyfriend’s Ray Bans

Where:

Work

Why:

I never wear color. Or at least I rarely do; and when I do, I certainly don’t mix colors, textures, and patterns. Such bold experimentation is reserved for the tried and true neutrals; grey, black, camel, and white.

Well here you go people! Not only am I wearing green AND purple, but I’m wearing a floral embroidered skirt with a stripe! Patterns and stripes? Who am I?

Alright, it’s not that crazy, but it is out of my comfort zone.

I did not want to wear this today. I took one look in the mirror and wanted to grab a plain lavender cardi, or scarf (much like how I styled the skirt previously here). But I sucked it up, and I’m kinda proud I did it.

I enjoyed wearing something a little different. I hemmed this skirt about 3 1/2 inches last night and really wanted to wear it. This morning while posing in the perfect sunlight I almost felt like I should be hanging out with Alice in Wonderland and heading to the Mad Hatters Tea Party.

Midday I realized I forgot to put on the ring and necklace I had planned (running out the door in a hurry I guess) and I wish I had worn some more accessories and jewelry for the photos. but I didn’t…

Anyway this was a great way to start the week. I had a great day and have some prospects for amazing things to happen later on in the week. Let’s hope it all turns out as it should in the end. I hope you all had an amazing start to your week!

Love the color combo and especially love that it was out of your comfort zone. We all have to take those leaps!

whoa now! Let’s not be too hasty. I nearly hurt myself wearing this yesterday… at least let me keep my basic brown and black heels to make me feel like a professional woman!

I really like this! I envy you for being able to wear a long cardigan…I’ve tried them, but they are just NOT flattering on me. I’m the same as you when it comes to color and pattern mixing that’s out of my comfort zone, but I usually end up getting compliments when I do venture out of my neutrals and usual pairings.

I have an obsession with cardigans, and yours is now on the top of my want list! I love it!
