What I Wore

What I Wore

There are more than
enough good ideas to go around. This (especially) includes fashion and
fashion blogging. Share and inspire! True!

Not every trend looks good on every body. This includes, but is not limited to crop tops, hot pants and skinny jeans. True!

”_______” is the new black. False. There is only one black, there
will only ever be one black. Magenta, brown, yellow, pink, green. None
of these are black. There is only one black.

What are your TT&L?

Jessica started this great discussion and I really wanted to continue it, so here we go.

My Two truths and a Lie:

*Accessories can make or break an outfit. They also can easily transition an outfit from day to night. I am guilty of not honoring my personal bevy of accessories and sometimes leave a dress or shirt bare when it really needs a little more sparkle. This is one thing I am trying to work on.

*Natural hair and makeup look good in any occasion. My goal is to always look a little overdressed (you never can be OVER dressed) but also look like I didn’t try too hard. Natural grace, pose, and elegance are hard to capture, but this is a simply rule that any classic style icon would have obeyed.

*Only buy something if you can see yourself wearing it right then and there. I think this is too strong a rule to follow. If you come across a scarf, belt, shirt, dress, etc. That the cut, fabric, or color is just too irresistible to pass up… go ahead and buy it. Some items may not fit into your wardrobe immediately as is, you may have to do a little DIY, or even shop around for more pieces to help transition the “must have” in. But if you see something that is a little far out, and feel you NEED to have it, I think it’s okay to give in once and a while and invest in a piece that may not work now, but could work in the future. A wardrobe is a living, breathing thing; it’s organic in the way it functions, and you have to be flexible.
